PÊREL VIR ELKE DAG:
(Handelinge 10:21-26)
21. En Petrus het afgeklim na die manne wat deur Cornelius na hom gestuur was, en gesê: "Kyk, dit is ek wat julle soek. Wat is die rede waarom julle hier is?"
22. En hulle sê: 'Cornelius, 'n hoofman oor honderd, 'n regverdige en Godvresende man, wat 'n goeie naam het by die hele Joodse nasie, het 'n Goddelike openbaring ontvang deur 'n heilige engel, om u te laat haal na sy huis, om te hoor wat u sal sê.'
23. En Petrus het hulle binne genooi en geherberg. En die volgende dag het hy saam met hulle afgereis, en enkele van die broeders uit Joppe het met hom saamgegaan.
24. Die dag daarop het hulle in Cesaréa aangekom. En Cornelius was hulle te wagte, en hy het alreeds sy familie en besondere vriende bymekaar geroep.
25. Toe Petrus dan binnekom, het Cornelius hom tegemoet gegaan en aan sy voete neergeval, en hom hulde bewys.
26. Maar Petrus het hom opgerig en gesê: "Staan op, ek is self ook maar 'n mens."

(Acts 10:21-26)
21. Then Peter went down to the men who had been sent to him by Cornelius, and said: "Yes, I am him whom you seek, what is the purpose of your coming?"
22. And they said: 'Cornelius, a centurion (captain) who is just and upright, and in right standing with God, being God-fearing and obedient and well spoken of by the whole Jewish nation, has been instructed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his house; and he has received in answer (to prayer) a warning to listen to and act upon what you have to say.'
23. So Peter invited them in to be his guests (for the night). The next day he arose and went away with them, and some of the brethren from Joppa accompanied him.
24. And the following day they entered Cesarea. Cornelius was waiting for and expecting them, and he had invited together his relatives and intemate friends.
25. As Peter arrived, Cornelius met him, and falling down at his feet, he made obeisance and paid worshipful reverence to him
26. But Peter raised him up, saying: "Get up, I myself am also a man."
