PÊREL VIR ELKE DAG:

(Handelinge 10:27-32)

27. En terwyl Petrus met Cornelius praat, gaan hy binne en vind baie wat vergader het;

28. en hy sê vir hulle: "Julle weet dat dit ongeoorloof is vir 'n Joodse man om met iemand van 'n ander volk omgang te hê of hom te besoek; maar God het my getoon dat ek geen mens onheilig of onrein mag noem nie. 

29. "Daarom het ek toe ek gehaal is, gekom sonder om teë te spreek. Ek vra dan, om watter rede julle my laat haal het."

 30. En Cornelius sê: 'Vier dae gelede was ek besig om te vas tot op hierdie uur, en die negende uur het ek in my huis gebid,

31. en meteens staan daar 'n man voor my in 'n blink kleed en sê: "Cornelius, jou gebed is verhoor en jou aalmoese is voor God in herinnering gebring. 

32. "Stuur dan na Joppe en laat Simon haal wat ook Petrus genoem word. Hy vertoef in die huis van Simon, 'n leerlooier, by die see; as hy kom, sal hy met jou gesels."'

PEARL FOR EACH DAY:

(Acts 10:27-32)

27. And as Peter spoke with Cornelius, he entered the house and found a large group of persons assembled; 

28. and Peter said to them: "You yourselves are aware how it is not lawful or permissible for a Jew to keep company or to visit or (even) to come near or to speak first to anyone of another nationality, but God Has shown and taught me by words, that I should not call any human being common or unhallowed or (ceremonially) unclean. 

29. "Therefore, when I was sent for, I came without hesitation or objection or misgivings. So now I ask for what reason you sent for me."

30. And Cornelius said: 'This is now the forth day since about this time I was observing the ninth hour (three o'clock in the afternoon) of prayer in my lodging place, suddenly a man stood before me in dazzling apparel, 

31. 'and he said: "Cornelius, your prayer has been heard and harkened to, and your donations to the poor have been known and preserved before God, so that He heeds and is about to help you. 

32. "Send therefore to Joppa and ask for Simon who is surnamed Peter; he is staying in the house of Simon the tanner, by the seaside."'

(Ek vertrou die Heilige Gees van God om my van die korrekte Skriflesing gedeelte te voorsien elke dag, volgens u behoeftes en verwagtinge. Aan Hom kom toe alle eer, heerlilheid, krag, mag, majesteit, lofprysing, aanbidding, en danksegging, van nou af tot in ewigheid.
