(Deuteronomium 16:18-22)

18. "Regters en opsigters moet jy vir jou aanstel in al jou poorte wat die Here jou God jou sal gee volgens jou stamme; en hulle moet die volk oordeel volgens 'n regverdige regspraak. 

19. "Jy mag die reg nie verdraai nie; jy mag nie partydig wees nie; ook mag jy geen omkoopgeskenk aanneem nie, want die geskenk verblind die oë van die wyse, en verdraai die sake van die wat reg het.

20. "Geregtigheid, geregtigheid moet jy najaag dat jy kan lewe en die land in besit kan neem wat die Here jou God jou sal gee. 

21. "Jy mag vir jou nie 'n heilige boomstam - enige boom - plant langs die altaar van die Here jou God, 

wat jy vir jou sal maak nie. 

22. "Ook mag jy vir jou geen klippilaar, wat die Here jou God haat, oprig nie."

(Deuteronomy 16:18-22) 

18. "You shall appoint judges and officers in all your towns which the Lord your God gives you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with righteous judgement.  

19. "You shall not misinterpret or misapply judgement, you shall not be partial or take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and perverts the words of the righteous. 

20. "Follow what is altogether just (uncompromisingly righteous), that you may live and inherit the land which your God gives you. 

21. "You shall not plant for yourselves any kind of tree dedicated to (the goddess) Asherah beside the altar of the Lord your God, which you shall make. 

22. "Neither shall you set up an idolotrous stone or image, which the Lord your God hates."

(Ek vertrou die Heilige Gees van God om die korrekte Skriflesing gedeelte aan my deur te gee elke dag, volgens u behoeftes en verwagtinge. 

Aan Hom kom toe alle eer, heerlikheid, krag, mag, lofprysing, aanbidding en danksegging van nou, tot in ewigheid.
