Maandag 5 Februarie 2018. 

PÊREL VIR ELKE DAG:

(Lukas 7: 6-10)

6. En Jesus het saam met hulle gegaan; maar toe Hy nie meer ver van die huis af was nie, stuur die hoofman oor honderd vriende na Hom, om vir Hom te sê: 'Here, moenie moeite doen nie, want ek is nie werd dat U onder my dak inkom nie.' 

7. 'Daarom het ek myself ook nie waardig geag om na U te gaan nie; sê dit maar met 'n Woord, en my kneg sal gesond word. 

8. 'Want ek is ook 'n man wat aan gesag onderworpe is, en ek het soldate onder my; aan die een sê ek: "Gaan!" en hy gaan; en vir 'n ander een: "Kom!" En jy kom; en vir my dienskneg: "Doen dit!" en hy doen dit.'

9. Toe Jesus dit hoor, was Hy oor hom verwonderd, en Hy draai Hom om en sê vir die skare wat Hom volg:

"Ek sê vir julle: selfs in Israel het Ek nie so 'n groot geloof gevind nie."

10. En toe die wat gestuur was teruggaan, vind hulle die kneg gesond. 

Monday 5 February 2018.

(Luke 7:6-10)

6. So Jesus went with them. He was not far from the house when the centurion sent friends to say to Him: 'Lord. Don't trouble Yourself further anymore, for I am not worthy to deserve to have You come under my roof.   

7. 'For that reason I did not even consider myself worthy to come to You, but just say the Word, and my servant will be healed. 

8. 'For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one "Go," and he goes, and that one, "Come," and he comes. I say to my servant: "Do this," and he does it.' 

9. When Jesus heard this, He was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd who was following Him: "I say to you, not even in Israel have I found such great faith."

10. Then the men who had been sent returned to the house and found the servant in great health.

(Lukas 7:11-15)

11. En die dag daarna was Hy op weg na 'n stad met die naam van Nain; en baie van Sy dissipels en 'n groot menigte het saam met Hom gegaan. 

12. En toe Hy naby die poort van die stad kom, word daar net 'n dooie uitgedra, die enigste seun van sy moeder, en sy was 'n weduwee; en 'n groot menigte van die stad was by haar. 

13. En toe die Here haar sien, het Hy innig jammer vir haar gevoel en vir haar gesê: "Moenie ween nie!" 

14. En Hy het nader gegaan en die baar aangeraak. Daarop staan die draers stil en Hy sê: "Jongman, Ek sê vir jou, staan op!"

15. En die dooie het regop gaan sit en begin praat; en Hy het hom aan sy moeder teruggegee. 

Tuesday 6 February 2018.

(Luke 7:11-15)

Soon afterwards He went to a city called Nain, and His disciples were going along with Him, accompanied by a large crowd. 

12. Now, as He approached the gate of the city, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and a sizeable crowd from the city was with her. 

13. When the Lord saw her, He felt compassion for her, and said to her: "Do not weep!"

14. And He came and touched the coffin; and the bearers came to a halt. And He said: "Young man, I say to you: Arise!"

15. The dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him back to his mother.

(Lukaa 7:16,17)

16. Vrees het almal aangegryp, en hulle het begin om God te verheerlik en gesê: "'n Groot Profeet het onder ons opgestaan!" en "God het Sy volk besoek!"

17. En hierdie woord aangaande Hom het uitgegaan oor die hele Judéa, en die hele omtrek. 

Wednesday 7February  2018. 

PEARL FOR EACH DAY:

(Lukd 7:16,17)

16. Fear gripped them all, and they began glorifying God, saying: "A great prophet Has risen among us! and "God Has visited His people!" 

17. This report concerning Him went out all over Judea and in all the surrounding district.

20. Toe slaan Hy sy oë op oor sy dissipels en sê: "Salig is julle armes, want aan julle behoort die koninkryk van God

21. "Salig is julle wat nou honger het, want julle sal versadig word. Salig is julle wat nou ween, want julle sal lag. 

22. "Salig is julle wanneer die mense julle haat, en wanneer hulle julle verstoot en beledig en julle naam weggooi soos iets wat sleg is, ter wille van die Seun van die mens. 

23. "Wees bly in daardie dag en spring op, want kyk, julle loon is groot in die hemel, want hulle vaders het net so aan die profete gedoen."

20. And solemnly lifting up His eyes on His disciples, He said: "Blessed (happy - with life, joy and satisfaction are you poor: for yours is the kingdom of God. 

21. "Blessed are you who hunger now: for you shall be filled. Blessed are you that weep now: for you shall laugh. 

22. "Blessed are you when men shall hate you, and they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. 

23."Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy: for behold, your reward is great in heaven, for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets."

33. Toe sê hulle vir Hom: 'Hoekom vas die dissipels van Johannes dikwels en doen gebede, ook die van die Fariseërs, maar U dissipels eet en drink?' 

34. En Hy sê vir hulle: "Kan julle die bruilofsgaste dan laat vas terwyl die Bruidegom by hulle is?

35. "Maar daar sal dae kom wanneer die Bruidegom van hulle weggeneem word; dan sal hulle vas, in daardie dae."

Sunday 28 January 2018.

(Luke 5:33-35)

33. Then they said to Him: 'The disciples of John practice fasting often and offer up prayers of (special) petition, and so do the disciples of the Pharisees also, but Your disciples eat and drink?" 

34. And Jesus said to them: "Can you make the wedding guests fast as long as the Bridegroom is with them?

35. "But the days will come when the Bridegroom will be taken from them; and then they will fast, in those days."

36. En Hy het ook aan hulle 'n gelykenis vertel: "Niemand sit 'n lap van 'n nuwe kleed op 'n ou kleed nie, anders skeur dit die nuwe ook, en die lap wat van die nuwe af kom, pas nie by die oue nie. 

37. "En niemand gooi nuwe wyn in ou leersakke nie, anders sal die nuwe wyn die sakke skeur, en dit sal uitloop, en die sakke sal vergaan. 

38. "Maar nuwe wyn moet in nuwe sakke gegooi word, en albei word saam behou. 

39. "En niemand wat ou wyn gedrink het, wil dadelik nuwe hê nie; want hy sê: 'Die oue is beter.'"

36. He told them a proverb also: "No one puts a patch from a new garment on an old garment; if he does, he will both tear the one, and the patch from the new (one) will not match the old (garment). 

37. "And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; if he does, the fresh wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled and the skins will be ruined (destroyed.). 

38. "But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins. 

39. "And no one after drinking old wine immediately desires new wine, for he says: 'The old is good or better.'"

(Lukas 6:1-5)

1. En op die tweede (eerste) Sabbat het Jesus deur die gesaaides geloop, en Sy dissipels het die are gepluk en met hulle hande uitgevrywe en geëet. 

2.  Toe sê sommige van die Fariseërs vir hulle: 'Waarom doen julle wat nie geoorloof is om op die Sabbat te doen nie?'

3. En Jesus antwoord hulle: "Het julle dan nie gelees wat Dawid gedoen het nie - hoe hy honger gehad het en die wat by hom was - 

4. "hoe hy in die huis van God gegaan en die toonbrode geneem en geëet het, en ook die wat by hom was, gegee het, wat hulle nie veroorloof was om te eet nie, maar die priesters alleen?"

5. Toe sê Hy vir hulle: "Die Seun van die mens is Here, ook van die Sabbat."

(Luke 6:1-5)

1. One Sabbath while Jesus was passing through the fields of standing grain, it occurred that His disciples picked some of the spikes and ate (of the grain), rubbing it out in their hands.  

2. But some of the Pharisees asked them: 'Why are you doing what is not permitted to be done on the Sabbath days?'

3. And Jesus replied to them, saying: "Have you never so much as read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him? -

4. "How he went into the house of God and took and ate the (sacred) loaves of the showbread, which is not permitted for any except only the priests to eat, and he gave to those (who were) with him?"

5. And He said to them: "The Son of man is Lord even of the Sabbath."

(Lukas 6:6-8)

6. En op 'n ander Sabbat het Hy in die sinagoge gegaan en geleer. En daar was 'n man, en sy regterhand was uitgedor. 

7. En die skrifgeleerdes en die Fariseërs het Hom in die oog gehou, 

of Hy op die Sabbat gesond maak, sodat hulle 'n aanklag teen Hom kon vind. 

8. Maar Hy het hulle gedagtes geken, en vir die man met die verdorde hand gesê: "Staan op hier in hul midde." En hy het opgestaan. 

Wednesday 31 January 2018.

(Luke 6:6-8)

6. And it occurred on another Sabbath that when He went into the sinagogue and taught, a man was present whose right hand was withered. 

7. And the scribes and the Parisees kept watching Jesus to see whether He would (actually) heal on the Sabbath, in order that they might get (some ground for) accusation against Him. 

8. But He was aware all along of their thougts, and He said to the man with the withered hand: "Come and stand here in the midst."  And he arose and stood there.

9. Toe sê Jesus vir hulle: "Ek sal aan julle 'n vraag stel: Wat is geoorloof op die Sabbat - om goed te doen of kwaad te doen; om 'n lewe te red, of om te bring?"

10. En nadat Hy almal rondom aangekyk het, sê Hy vir die man: "Steek jou hand uit!" En hy het dit gedoen; en sy hand is herstel, gesond soos die ander een. 

11. En hulle is met uitsinnigheid vervul, en het met mekaar gepraat wat hulle aan Jesus sou doen. 

Thursday 1 February 2018.

(Luke 6:9-11)

9. Then Jesus said to them: "I ask you, is it lawful and right on the Sabbath to do good (so that someone derives advantage from it) or to do evil, to save a life (and make a soul safe) or to destroy it?"

10. Then He glanced around at them all and said to the man: "Stretch out your hand!" And he did so, and the hand was fully restored like the other one. 

11. But they were filled with lack of understanding and senseless rage, and discussed (consulted) with one another what they might do to Jesus.

17. En Hy het met hulle afgeklim en op 'n gelyk plek gaan staan, en daar was 'n skare van Sy dissipels en 'n groot menigte van die volk van die hele Judéa en Jerusalem, en die kusstreek van Tirus en Sidon af,

18. en gekom het om Hom te hoor en van hulle kwale genees te word; en die wat gekwel was deur onreine geeste, is ook genees. 

19. En die hele skare het probeer om Hom aan te raak, omdat krag van Hom uitgegaan het, en Hy het almal gesond gemaak. 

Friday 2 February 2018.

(Luke 6:17-19)

17. And Jesus came down with them and took His stand on a level spot, with a great crowd of His disciples and a vast throng of people from all over Judea and Jerusalem, and the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to listen to Him and to be cured of their diseases -  

18. Even those who were disturbed and troubled with unclean spirits, and they were being healed (also).

19. And all the multitude were seeking to touch Him, for healing power were all the time going forth from Him, and curing them all (saving them from severe illnesses or calamities).

24. "Maar wee julle rykes, want julle het jul troos weg. 

25. "Wee julle wat vol is, want julle sal honger ly. Wee julle wat nou lag, want julle sal treur en ween. 

26. "Wee julle wanneer al die mense goed van julle praat, want hulle vaders het net so aan die profete gedoen.

27. "Maar Ek sê vir julle wat luister: Julle moet julle vyande liefhê, doen goed aan die wat jou haat,

28. "seën die wat jou vervloek, bid vir die wat julle beledig."

24. "But woe unto you that are rich, for you have received your consolation.

27. "But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,

33. "Want Johannes die Doper het gekom en nie brood geëet of wyn gedrink nie, en julle sê: 'Hy het 'n duiwel.'

34. "Die Seun van die mens het gekom, en julle sê: 'Daar is 'n mens wat 'n vraat en 'n wynsuiper is, 'n Vriend van tollenaars rn sondaars .  

35. "Maar die wysheid is geregverdig ln al Sy kinders."

36. En een vsn die Fariseërs het Hom genooi om by hom te kom eet, en Hy het na sy huis gekom, en aan tafel gegaan. 

Monday 12 February 2018.

(Luke 7:33-36)

33. "For John the Baptist has come eating no bread  and drinking no wine, and you say: 'He has a demon.'

34. "The Son of man Has come eating and drinking, and you say: 'Behold, a Man Who is glutton and a wine drinker, a Friend of tax collectors and notorious sinners.'

35. "Yet wisdom is vindicated (shown to be true and divine) by all His children (by their life, character, and deeds)."

36. One of the Pharisees asked Jesus to dine with him, and He went into the Pharsees' house and reclined at table.

29. En Levi (Mattheus) het 'n groot feesmaal vir Hom in sy huis gegee; en daar was 'n groot menigte van tollenaars en ander wat saam met hulle aan tafel was. 

30. En hulle skrifgeleerdes en die Fariseërs het by Sy dissipels gemurmureer en gesê: 'Waarom eet julle saam met die tollenaars en die sondaars?'

31. En Jesus antwoord en sê vir hulle: "Die wat gesond is, het die geneesheer nie nodig nie, maar die wat ongesteld is.

32. "Ek het nie gekom om regverdiges te roep nie, maar sondaars tot bekering."

(Luke 5:29,30)

29. And Levi (Mstthew) made a great banquet for Him in his own house, and there was a large company of tax collectors and others who were reclining (at the table) with them. 

30. Now the Pharisees and their scribes were grumbling against Jesus' desciples, saying: 'Why are you eating and drinking with tax collectors and (preeminently) sinful people?' 

31. And Jesus answered them: "Is it not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick?

32. "I have not come (to arouse and invite and call the righteous, but erring ones, (those not free from sin) to repentance, (to change their minds for the better and heartily to amend their ways, with abhorrence of their past sins).

PÊREL VIR ELKE DAG:

(Lukas 5:12-16)

12. En terwyl Hy in een van die stede was, kom daar 'n man vol van melaatsheid; en toe hy Jesus sien, val hy op sy aangesig en smeek Hom en sê: 'Here, as U wil, kan U my reinig.'

13. Daarop steek Hy die hand uit en raak hom aan en sê: "Ek wil, word gereinig!" En dadelik het die melaatsheid hom verlaat. 

14. Toe gee Hy hom bevel om dit aan niemand te vertel nie; maar, sê Hy: "Gaan vertoon jou aan die priester en offer jou reiniging soos Moses voorgeskrywe het, vir hulle tot 'n getuienis."

15. Maar die gerug aangaande Hom is nog meer versprei, en groot menigtes het bymekaargekom om te luister, en deur Hom van hulle siektes genees te word. 

16. Maar Hy het Hom in verlate plekke teruggetrek en gebid.

12. While He was in one of the towns, there came a man full of (covered with) leprosy; and when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and inplored Him, saying: 'Lord, if You are willing, You are able to cure me and make me clean.'

13. And Jesus reached out His hand and touched him, saying: "I Am willing, be cleansed!" And immediately the leprosy left him.  

14. And Jesus charged him to tell no one (that he might chance to meet), (until He said:) "Go and show yourself  to the priest, and make an offering for your purification, as Moses commanded, for a testimony and proof to the people, that they may have evidence (of your healing)."

15. But so much the news spread abroad concerning Him, and great crowds kept coming together to (hear Him) and to be healed by Him of their infirmities. 

16. But He Himself withdrew (in retirement) to the wilderness (desert), and prayed.

17. "Ook mag hy nie baie vroue aanskaf nie, dat sy hart nie afwyk nie; hy mag ook vir hom nie uitermate silwer en goud aanskaf nie. 

18. "En as hy op die troon van sy koninkryk sit, moet hy vir hom 'n afskrif van hierdie wet in 'n boek skrywe, en dié wat voor die Levitiese priesters lê;

19. "en dit moet by hom wees, en hy moet al die dae van sy lewe daarin lees, om te leer om die Here sy God te vrees, deur al die woorde van hierdie wet en hierdie insettinge te hou, om dit te doen;

14. Get. Die goddelose het die swaard getrek en hulle boog gespan, om die ellendige en die behoeftige te laat val, om dié te slag wat opreg is van weg.  

15. Hulle swaard sal in hulle hart gaan, en hulle boë sal verbreek word. 

16. Tet. 'n Klein bietjie is vir die regverdige beter as die rykdom van baie goddelose;

17. want die arms van die goddelose sal verbreek word, maar die Here ondersteun die regverdiges.

16. Better is the little that the (uncompromisingly) righteous have, than the ubundance (of possessions) of many who are wrong and wicked. 

17. For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but the Lord upholds the (consistently righteous.
