(Deuteronomium 6:4-9)

4. "Hoor Israel, die Here onse God is 'n enige God. 

5. "Daarom moet jy die Here jou God liefhê met jou hele hart en met jou hele siel en met al jou krag. 

6. "En hierdie woorde wat ek jou vandag beveel, moet in jou hart wees;

7. "en jy moet dit jou kinders inskerp en daaroor spreek as jy in jou huis sit, en as jy op pad is, en jy gaan lê en jy opstaan. 

8. "Ook moet jy dit as 'n teken bind op jou hand, en dit moet as 'n voorhoofsband tussen jou oë wees. 

9. "En jy moet dit op die deurposte van jou huis en op jou poorte skrywe."

4. "Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One. 

5. "Love the Lord Your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your strength. 

6. "These commandments that I give you today, are to be upon your hearts. 

7. "Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you are at home, and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 

8. "Tie them as symbols on your hands, and bind them on your foreheads. 

9. "Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates."

(Ek vertrou die Heilige Gees van God om telkens die korrekte Skriflesing aan u deur te gee, volgens u behoeftes en verwagtinge. 

Aan Hom kom toe alle eer, heerlikheid, lofprysing, aanbidding en danksegging nou, en tot in ewigheid.
