(Deuteronimoum 6:14-17) 

14. "Julle mag nie agter ander gode aanloop, uit die gode van die volke wat rondom julle is nie -

15. "want die Here jou God is 'n jaloerse God by jou - sodat die toorn van die Here jou God nie teen jou ontvlam en Hy jou van die aarde verdelg nie. 

16. "Julle mag die Here julle God nie versoek, soos julle Hom by Massa versoek het nie. 

17. "Julle moet die gebooie van die Here julle God en Sy getuienisse en Sy insettinge wat Hy jou beveel het, ywerig onderhou."

14. "You shall not go after other gods, any of the gods of the peoples who are round about you;

15. "for the Lord your God in the midst of you, is a jealous God; lest the anger of the Lord your God be kindled against you, and He destroy you from the face of the earth. 

16. "You shall not tempt and try the Lord your God as you tempted and tried Him in Massah. 

17. "You shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and His exhortations and His statutes which He commanded you."

(Ek vertrou die Heilige Gees van God om telkens die korrekte Skriflesing aan u deur te gee, volgens u behoeftes en verwagtinge. 

Aan Hom kom toe alle eer, heerlikheid, lofprysing, aanbidding en danksegging nou, en tot in ewigheid.
