PÊREL VIR ELKE DAG:

(Handelinge 11:25-30)

25. Toe vertrek Bárnabas na Tarsus om Saulus te soek, en toe hy hom kry, het hy hom na Antiochíë gebring,

26. en hulle het 'n hele jaar lank in die gemeente saam vergader en aan 'n aansienlike skare onderwys gegee; en die dissipels is in Antiochíë vir die eerste keer Christene genoem.   

27. En in dié dae het daar profete van Jerusalem na Antiochíë afgekom. 

28. En een van hulle met die naam van Agabus het opgestaan en deur die Heilige Gees te kenne gegee dat daar 'n groot hongersnood oor die hele wêreld sou kom, wat ook gekom het, onder Keiser Claudius. 

29. En die dissipels het besluit dat iedereen van hulle na sy vermoë iets sou stuur tot versorging van die broeders wat in Judéa woon. 

30. En dit het hulle ook gedoen, en dit is deur Bárnabas en Saulus aan die ouderlinge gestuur.

PEARL FOR EACH DAY:

(Acts 11:25-30)

25. Barnabas went on to Tarsus to hunt for Saul. 

26. And when he had found him, he brought him back to Antioch. For a whole year they assembled together with, and were guests of the Church and instructed a large number of people; and in Antioch the disciples were first called Christians. 

27. And during these days prophets (inspired teachers and interpreters of the divine will and purpose), came down from Jerusalem to Antioch. 

28. And one of them named Agabus stood up and prophesied through the Holy Spirit that a great and severe famine would come upon the whole world. And this did occur during the reign of Claudius. 

29. So the disciples resolved to send relief, each according to his own individual ability, (in proportion as he had prospered), to the brethren who lived in Judea. 

30. And so they did, sending their contributions to the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul. 

(Ek vertrou die Heilige Gees van God om my van die korrekte Skriflesing gedeelte te voorsien elke dag, volgens u behoeftes en verwagtinge. Aan Hom kom toe alle eer, heerlikheid, krag, mag, majesteit, lofprysing, aanbidding, en danksegging, van nou af tot in ewigheid.
