(Handelinge 7:8-10)

8. "En Hy het hom die verbond van die besnydenis gegee, en so het hy die vader van Isak geword, en hom op die agste dag besny; en Isak het die vader van Jakob geword, en Jakob van die twaalf aartsvaders.  

9. "En die aartsvaders was jaloers op Josef, en het hom verkoop na Egipte toe; maar God was met hom, 

10. "en het hom uit al sy verdrukkinge verlos, en hom guns en wysheid geskenk voor Farao, die koning van Egipte; en dié het hom goewerneur gemaak oor Egipte en oor sy hele huis."

(Acts 7:8-10)

8. "And God made with Abraham a covenant (an agreement to be religiously observed) of which circumcision was the seal. And under these circumstances (Abraham) became the father of Isaac, and circumcised him on the eights day; and Isaac (did so) when he became the father of Jacob, and Jacob (when each of his sons was born), the twelve patriarchs. 

9. "And the patriachs, (Jacobs sons), boiling with envy and hatred and anger sold Joseph into slavery in Egypt; but God was with him,

10. "and delivered hom from all his distressing afflictions and won him goodwill and favour and wisdom and understanding in the sight of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, who made him governour over Egypt and all his house."

(Ek vertrou die Heilige Gees van God om my van die korrekte Skriflesing gedeelte te voorsien elke dag, volgens u behoeftes en verwagtinge. Aan Hom kom toe alle eer, heerlilheid, krag, mag, majesteit, lofprysing, aanbidding, en danksegging, van nou af tot in ewigheid.
