'N PÊREL VIR ELKE DAG;

(3 Johannes 1:9,10)

9. Ek het aan die gemeente geskrywe, maar Diótrefes wat onder hulle die eerste wil wees, steur hom nie aan ons nie. 

10. Daarom, as ek kom, sal ek hom herinner aan die werke wat hy doen, deur met slegte woorde teen ons uit te vaar; en hiermee nie tevrede nie, ontvang hy nie alleen self die broeders nie gasvry nie, maar verhinder ook die wat dit wil doen, en werp hulle uit die gemeente.

A PEARL FOR EACH DAY:

9. I have written briefly to the Church; but Diotrephes who likes to take the lead among them and put himself first, does not acknowledge my authority and refuses to accept my suggestions or to listen to me,  

10. So when I arrive, I will call attention to what he is doing, his boiling over and casting malicious reflections upon us with insinuating language. And not satisfied with that, he refuses to receive and welcome the (missionary brethren) himself, and also interferes with, and forbids those who would welcome them, and tries to expel (excommunicate) them from the Church.     

(Ek vertrou die Heilige Gees van God om die korrekte "PÊREL" deur te gee elke dag, volgens u behoeftes. Aan Hom kom toe alle eer, heerlikheid, lofprysing, aanbidding, en danksegging nou en tot in ewigheid.
